The problem is about infinite Geometrics Serie. The radius of the circle is 8, 4, 2, .....and we will find the area of the circle which is 64phi, 16phi, 4phi,..... So we have the ratio is 1/4. We can use the formula S~= a/(1 - r) ----> S~ = 64phi/(1 - 1/4) = 256phi/4.
